Vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) cause significant health, economic, and social impact in older adults, yet vaccines are underutilized in this population around the world. At the same time, the world’s population is aging at an unprecedented rate.
Adult immunization as a strategy has the broad potential to preserve and improve medical, social, and economic outcomes. Maintaining the heath of the adults helps them take care of their families, the communities that they lie in, and the country as a whole. A framework to build robust platforms to deliver Immunization to the rapidly expanding older adults is needed.
Workplace Immunization:
Adults are a part of the large workforce in any country. Their remaining healthy in occupational settings helps organizations function more effectively. Improving the understanding of both the employer as well as the employee is required to help improve occupational health.
Over the last few years, there is an increasing focus on instituting wellness programs at the workplace among organizations. Such programs are aimed at improving employee health, which in turn, helps in reducing absenteeism, as well as in increasing work productivity and improving employee engagement. Adult vaccination plays a significant role in ensuring the well-being of employees, as well as in keeping an organization financially healthy.
